Bargain Booties.

This week's purchase
- Sale boots from River Island Sale {£84.99 to £ 40}
Cheap, yes.  But very comfortable and I was looking for an alternative to my black TopShop wedges that I feel like I've worn for an eternity! and I liked.  A lot.

Vintage Sunday.

Went a Vintage & Craft Fayre on Sunday - I's my favourite way to spend a rough Sunday(although sometimes the smell of vintage makes me gag after a particularly heavy night!).
Picked up these second hand jewellery items- not sure how vintage the ring is but I loved the colour of it.  Perfect for colour blocking with my green nails (Barry M 304- Mint Green)

Boycott or Buy?

I recently came across this article from the Daily Mail here, written by Liz Jones and Vogue Editor Alexandra Shulman.

Although I rarely buy from Primark and cheap shops - I'm not a snob I just prefer to save my money and blow it all on an amazing piece that I'll have forever...because I think cheap clothes are a false economy.  Why spend £50 on a pair of boots that will last you one winter when a pair at £100 might last you 5 winters...?  The ethical debate that arose with the rise of 'Disposable Fashion' has always interested me.  I'm torn between the ethical implications of it (e.g. how the garments are made, who by, and in what conditions) and my true belief that fashion shouldn't just be for those who can afford it.  I wish I could form some sort of definitive view or opinion on the debate but until then I'm going to sit on the fence and mull over it - although I am leaning towards Boycott, human right is ultimately more important than fashion rights.  Always.

Mulberry.

Alexa has been getting a lot of grief for her styling of this Mulberry dress from the Autumn/Winter 11 Show {paired with Opening Ceremony boots}.  I'm a fan of Alexa's - I like how everything looks a little messy and never too 'pretty'.  I prefer the length of Alexa's but the original Runway dress is very elegant.

Old Favourites

This was my staple purchase for Autumn/Winter 10 - a leather aviator jacket.
It is Literally one of the best value purchases I've ever made (although admittedly it was too cold in Scotland to wear it over Winter!  However, the best thing about it (apart from the zips and detailing) is the detachable Shearling collar which now transforms it into a staple leather jacket - which I will have FOREVER (my usual justification when I buy something a little extravagant.)

Urban Outfitters Spring/Summer Look Book Shots

These are my favourite looks from Urban Outfitters S/S 11 Look Book.  In true Urban Outfitters style it's laid back Chic.  I especially like the over sized t shirts worn with bare legs and the high waisted skin tight trousers paired with the turquoise shirt -very 80s!  Lets also not forget the fabulous head wear! I am coveting that Turban (in fact I adore that whole look - so understated but original) and I can really see me rocking some feather headdress at this summer's music festivals.

Inspiration.

 Kitsch Kitchen!
This M&S advert in this week's Sunday Times Style Magazine instantly caught my eye.  It's very reminiscent of my favourite homeware shops - Laura Ashley and Cath Kidston.
I've never been interested in minimalist Kitchens - it's got to be that British Country Cottage feel.

See the whole range here.
I particularly love the measuring jug and the scales.
How kitsch!

Frock Lust.

I think I'm a little in love with this.  Literally adore everything about it - the sunshine yellow, the divine material, the halter neckline and of course the tail detailing on the back.  Beautiful.
