Mulberry.

Alexa has been getting a lot of grief for her styling of this Mulberry dress from the Autumn/Winter 11 Show {paired with Opening Ceremony boots}.  I'm a fan of Alexa's - I like how everything looks a little messy and never too 'pretty'.  I prefer the length of Alexa's but the original Runway dress is very elegant.

Old Favourites

This was my staple purchase for Autumn/Winter 10 - a leather aviator jacket.
It is Literally one of the best value purchases I've ever made (although admittedly it was too cold in Scotland to wear it over Winter!  However, the best thing about it (apart from the zips and detailing) is the detachable Shearling collar which now transforms it into a staple leather jacket - which I will have FOREVER (my usual justification when I buy something a little extravagant.)

Urban Outfitters Spring/Summer Look Book Shots

These are my favourite looks from Urban Outfitters S/S 11 Look Book.  In true Urban Outfitters style it's laid back Chic.  I especially like the over sized t shirts worn with bare legs and the high waisted skin tight trousers paired with the turquoise shirt -very 80s!  Lets also not forget the fabulous head wear! I am coveting that Turban (in fact I adore that whole look - so understated but original) and I can really see me rocking some feather headdress at this summer's music festivals.

Inspiration.

 Kitsch Kitchen!
This M&S advert in this week's Sunday Times Style Magazine instantly caught my eye.  It's very reminiscent of my favourite homeware shops - Laura Ashley and Cath Kidston.
I've never been interested in minimalist Kitchens - it's got to be that British Country Cottage feel.

See the whole range here.
I particularly love the measuring jug and the scales.
How kitsch!

Frock Lust.

I think I'm a little in love with this.  Literally adore everything about it - the sunshine yellow, the divine material, the halter neckline and of course the tail detailing on the back.  Beautiful.

Frocks and Giggles.

1. A vintage gift from a friend who knows well my love of kitsch vintage glamour items.  This item actually belonged to an elderly lady moving homes, but unable to take all her belongings with her.  Her house was full of fabulous treasures and clothes.  I feel sad she no longer had any use for them, but I'm going to treasure it.

2. A Matthew Williamson skirt.  How.beautiful.is.this.  Chiffon and Peacock Feathers.

3.  Homemade Potato and Sage Scones.  I thought they were delicious.  The Great British Bake Off disagreed... blog to follow after I regain some of my Baking pride.  Recipe from Delia Smith.  Legend.

4.  I adore Lily Allen.  I enjoyed her Ch4 Program this week following the opening of her store Lucy in Disguise (which I am desperate to visit) but I am also super excited to see their first ready to wear collection which previewed this week.  See Lucy In Disguise Blog here.

5.  I'm a little obsessed with Turbans.  I've been on a slight turbo turban mission since I saw SATC 2 last year.  This is my second vintage one, a nice woolly one for the Scottish weather.  Also found this one on asos.com which will soon be purchased for glam evenings out.  Just not sure what to wear it with yet...

Frocks and Giggles.

A few things from the last week that have made me smile...

1.  The new 'it' Nail Polish from Chanel.  Le Vernis Nail Colour in Graphite will be available in July, perfect for glam summer nights out.  Source: Harper's Bazaar

2.  My favourite perfume in a new intense version.  Very Irresistible L'Intense.  Feminine, Floral and Sexy.  I'd buy anything Liv Tyler advertised - I think she's divine.

3. Six Nations fixture on Sunday.  Scotland v England, The Pub, and a little man perving.  Total excitement!

4.  The Boob Clamp. Hilarious.  Just watch.  Better link here

5.  Limited Edition Dresses from Topshop.com.  All gorgeous.  Must. Have. One.  Soon.  Dress £150.

Pancake Day.

Pancake Day! I love food occasion days.  Very indulgent of me. I used a recipe from my mum's old Be-Ro recipe book (although it pretty illegible from all the batter splatters throughout the years!) This is the basic recipe here here but I also read directions from The Pink Whisk.  I decided I wanted softened caramelized fruit with my Pancakes so simmered a selection of fruit (pears, peaches, orange) in some fruit juice to soften and then added some sugar to make them caramelize and go all sweet and gooey.  I must admit the photo really doesn't do the Pancakes justice as they were so yummy (although I do love ANYTHING sweet).  Till next year Pancakes...goodbye!
