Inspiration.

In this month's Net-a-Porter on-line magazine they've run a shoot with Fashion Favourite, Alexa Chung, found here.  I especially love the Erdem Lace dresses and the whole relaxed Parisian look that's going on.
Although I would love to own an Erdem dress... it's out of my budget (unfortunately) but here's some alternatives for the more modest budget...

Rihanna Reb'l Fleur

I must confess I'm really not into Celebrity Perfumes (admittedly I'm a perfume snob)but I've just watched the new advert for Rihanna's debut Fragrance Reb'l Fleur, and was really quite impressed. (I do love anything featuring ostrich feathers though...)I found this advert very watchable and everything seemed very elegant! The perfume definitely hints at her Caribbean roots with the fruity top notes, and the Sweet smells of coconut (unusual) and hibiscus.

Top notes- Peach, Plum, Red Berries
Heart Notes - Tuberose, Violet, Coconut, Hibiscus
Base Notes - Musk, Patchouli, Amber, Vanilla

Macaroons.

I've been planning on baking Macaroons for a while now, and a couple of things have put me off it.  Firstly, my mum hates them and no matter how lovely they were she would still turn her nose up at them and secondly they are notoriously hard to make.  I decided to follow this recipe from The Pink Whisk blog (one of my favourites) and used this recipe.  I was pretty impressed how it was all going, pretty easy I thought. Ha. I'm not posting any pictures of the finished article because although they tasted delicious they were all cracked.  Second attempt soon!
As you can see I'm far from a tidy baker (see the two conjoined macaroons!!).

Bag Lust.

Love this.  Time to open that savings account. Alexander Wang Bag available from here

Jimmy Choo EDP

Over the past weeks, I've been working as temporary Fragrance Consultant (or really a glorified spitzer) and had the pleasure of promoting the new Jimmy Choo fragrance.  It's so nice to promote something I love (makes my job easier too).  The whole marketing of the fragrance was great, packaging and advertising especially.  I loved that Tamara Mellon was the face of the Fragrance, aiming it specifically at professional and confident women.

Top Notes - Italian Orange, Pear Nectar
Heart Notes - Tiger Orchid
Base Notes - Toffee, Patchouli

New Home.

After becoming very, very lazy with my original blog http://frocksandgiggles.wordpress.com/ I've moved to a new home in an attempt to be more committed to the blogging experience. So, enjoy!x
